Israeli Air Force Targets Terrorists in Southern Lebanon Following Ceasefire Agreement
The Israeli Air Force carried out precision strikes in southern Lebanon on Thursday, targeting two terrorists identified near a known launch site responsible for rocket attacks on Israel, according to an IDF statement. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to secure the region following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, which took effect Wednesday morning.

IDF forces have remained active in southern Lebanon, reportedly conducting additional strikes in Sidon.
Strategic Gains and New Phase of the Conflict
IDF Chief of the General Staff, Herzi Halevi, emphasized the accomplishments made during months of intensive operations, which included the elimination of Hezbollah's senior leadership. “From January onward, all targeted eliminations and strikes have dismantled the chain of command,” Halevi stated.
Halevi underscored the necessity of enforcing the ceasefire agreement with the same determination used to achieve it. “Any deviation will be met with fire,” he warned, emphasizing the IDF’s commitment to protecting northern Israeli residents and ensuring their safe return home.
As the IDF transitions into a new phase of engagement with Hezbollah, Halevi assured that Israel would maintain firm and decisive enforcement of the agreement to secure stability in the region.
