Lewis Hamilton Reflects on Las Vegas GP Qualifying and Prepares for a New Era with Ferrari
Lewis Hamilton faces challenges in Las Vegas GP qualifying, contemplates his move to Ferrari in 2025, and renews his pursuit of an eighth world title.
Lewis Hamilton’s bid for pole position at the Las Vegas Grand Prix fell short after a series of setbacks in Q3. Despite topping the timesheets in FP1 and FP2, a lock-up on his first run and a slide through Turn 3 on his second attempt left the Mercedes driver out of contention.
Reflecting on his performance, Hamilton expressed frustration at missing out on a strong grid position but remains optimistic about his chances in the race.
In a week filled with highs and lows, an older Hamilton race car also made headlines, fetching a staggering price at auction.
Looking ahead, the seven-time world champion is set to leave Mercedes at the end of 2024 to join Ferrari, entering a new chapter in his illustrious career. The switch comes as Hamilton renews his pursuit of a record-breaking eighth world title, a goal that has eluded him during several challenging seasons with Mercedes.
“Chasing that eighth title is still the dream,” Hamilton said. “I’m excited for the new challenges Ferrari will bring and hope we can make history together.”
