The NFL has warned players about a criminal network targeting their homes, following recent burglaries at the residences of Kansas City Chiefs' stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. A property owned by Dallas Cowboys' Linval Joseph was also targeted. Players have been urged to boost security and be cautious with social media, as the criminal group is known to track team schedules and public records to identify player addresses.
An NFL memo, sent to team security directors and the players' union, revealed that the criminals wait for homes to be empty—often during games—by monitoring players' social media posts. The league has also recommended players leave lights or a television on to make it appear someone is home when they are out.
Mahomes addressed the burglary, acknowledging the unsettling nature of the situation while noting the ongoing investigation.
