Paul George Suffers Hyperextended Knee in 76ers' Loss to Grizzlies

Philadelphia 76ers' Paul George injured his left knee in the second half of Wednesday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. The same knee had been hyperextended in the preseason, causing him to miss the first five regular-season games. Further testing is planned, but coach Nick Nurse is hopeful that no structural damage occurred. The injury adds to the Sixers' struggles as they had their full starting lineup for the first time this season.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Paul George suffered a hyperextended left knee during the second half of their 117-111 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. The injury is to the same knee George injured in the preseason, which caused him to miss the first five games of the season. Further testing will be conducted Thursday, though coach Nick Nurse suggested the injury appeared similar to the previous one, which was diagnosed as a bone bruise.

George, who played 17 minutes, had a tough outing with just two points on 1-of-6 shooting, along with four rebounds and two assists. His injury came in the midst of the Sixers' first game with their full starting lineup of George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey. Maxey, who was returning from a six-game absence, also struggled, shooting 3-of-13 for eight points.

Despite the setbacks, Nurse emphasized that the team needs to find a way to play better for the full 48 minutes. The Sixers will have Thursday off before facing the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night.
