Edwards Returns After Scary Ankle Sprain
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards gave fans a scare after rolling his left ankle in the second quarter against the Golden State Warriors. The injury occurred when Trayce Jackson-Davis stepped on Edwards' foot, leaving the 23-year-old writhing in pain. He was helped off the court and listed as questionable with a left ankle sprain.
In a surprise twist, Edwards emerged at halftime looking ready to go. Just 30 minutes after the injury, he returned to start the third quarter and played through the pain, with Minnesota holding a 56–39 lead.
Warriors Experiment Without Curry
Golden State, missing Stephen Curry, appeared desperate for solutions. Head coach Steve Kerr went deep into his bench, using 14 different players in the first half — a first in NBA playoff history since at least 1998. Without Curry, the team struggled to find rhythm, with offensive responsibilities falling flat against a locked-in Timberwolves defense.
Draymond Green Inches Toward Suspension
Draymond Green picked up his fifth technical foul of the playoffs after hitting Naz Reid in the head during a scuffle in the second quarter. The officials reviewed the play, ruling it a common foul on Reid and a technical on Green. With just two technicals and two flagrant fouls left before triggering a suspension, Green is on thin ice.
Minnesota Holds Strong Against Late Push
Golden State briefly threatened a comeback when Buddy Hield cut the lead to seven with a big three-pointer in the third quarter. But the Timberwolves, led by a hobbled but determined Edwards, avoided becoming the latest team to blow a 20-point lead in these wild 2025 playoffs.
