The Russian Defense Ministry acknowledged its own losses after Ukraine used U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles in recent attacks on Russian soil. In the Kursk region, two of five ATACMS missiles hit a Russian air defense system, causing injuries and damaging its radar. Another ATACMS strike on the Kursk-Vostochny airbase injured two servicemen and caused minor damage.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the need to strengthen international sanctions against Russia, highlighting that its Shahed drones rely on foreign components circumventing restrictions.

As winter approaches, Ukraine faces escalating Russian missile and drone strikes on civilian areas and critical infrastructure, coupled with uncertainties about future U.S. support under the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump.

On the battlefield, Russian forces continue to hold the initiative, focusing their efforts on the eastern Donetsk region where significant tactical gains have been reported.
