Independent Russian news group Agentstvo reported that over the last seven days, Russian troops have seized 235 square kilometers, marking a 2024 weekly record. In November alone, they gained 600 square kilometers, based on data from DeepState, an organization that analyzes combat footage and maps the frontline.

On Tuesday, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced the capture of Kopanky, a village in Ukraine's Kharkiv region, a hotspot for recent activity. However, Ukraine's Third Separate Assault Brigade countered on Monday, claiming it had successfully reclaimed the area.

Ukrainian forces have also reported repelling Russian advances near Kupiansk, a critical logistical hub in Kharkiv. This marks the second major push against the city this month.

Military analyst Pasi Paroinen estimates Russian territorial gains this month at 667 square kilometers, possibly including earlier progress not immediately recorded.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who replaced his defense minister earlier this year, has touted improved efficiency in military operations, reiterating that Russia will meet its objectives in Ukraine, though specific goals remain unclear.

This uptick in fighting underscores the continued intensity of the conflict and the shifting dynamics on the ground.
