The Cavs, who opened with a 19-point lead, suffered their first home defeat of the season, dropping to 17-2 overall. Young's stellar night included a clutch 39-foot three-pointer in the final minutes, helping the Hawks snap a three-game skid.
Young’s assist tally narrowly missed matching the Hawks' franchise record of 23, held by Mookie Blaylock since 1993. Eight of those assists came in the decisive fourth quarter as the Hawks rallied past Cleveland, with De'Andre Hunter contributing 26 points and key baskets down the stretch.
Hawks coach Quin Snyder praised Young’s vision and leadership, emphasizing his ability to stay composed and involve teammates. "He moved the ball, trusted his teammates, and made the plays we needed," Snyder said.
Young’s late-game heroics silenced Cleveland’s home crowd, punctuated by his signature three-pointer from near half-court, showcasing not only his scoring but his often underrated passing prowess.
